met up with andrew for lunch at nihon mura @ The Cathay. i thought the concept of ordering the food was quite cool. photos of the food and drinks are placed nicely on the shelf for customers to choose. you than pick up the wooden sticks beside the photos and place it in a small little container, than you hand it over to the counter when you're done. there are also sushi on the conveyor belt for you to choose. felt that the price of the food is also quite reasonable too. love the place there (:

tianwee den joined us after his meeting at school and we headed to plaza sing to watch Mirrors. The movie was more of gory than scary. but interesting storyline. it was a mixture of exorcist and dark waters. haha. after the movie, we made our way to smu to meet sue ann and had dinner at screme. i'm telling you smu is 100 times more interesting than ntu. and it was quite entertaining to be with them. one moment we will be laughing non stop, another moment there will be total awkward silence. all thanx to the two super lame guys.

after dinner, andrew and i headed to city hall and we managed to get a glance of the F1 grand prix. managed to catch a glimpse of the cars zooming past us and also hear the sound of the engines. damn cool!! i even had a tutorial of the entire F1 formula race. afterwich, we went to Harry's Bar for a drink before heading home. lychee martini!!

a tiring day but i had alott of fun. thanx for everything ya (:

i want the jay chou cd so badly la!! and koh, thanx for sending me the new song. i love you babe!

pool talks with yogz are definitely the best way to spend a lazy afternoon. lazing around the pool, chatting our hearts out and swimming laps as and when we feel like it. afterwich we were supposed to study at the library, but because the library was exceptionally quiet, we decided to leave and do some shopping instead. (we know its quite a lame excuse to not study, but who cares right). it was than followed by dinner at ajisen ramen.

nothing beats spending the day with best friend (:

and yesterday was kboxx with jiemeis, tianwee and andrew. whenever you put the two guys together, you will definitely be entertained throughout. they are the funniest and lamest people you can ever meet. so we ended up laughing more than we sang that night. laugh until stomacahce too. i love hanging out with them.

but of course, i also love to go kbox with TGL. there will always be eugene and boon to help me continue singing whenever i can't reach the note (((: so eugene you better get your ass back in singapore and go kbox with us ya

friday
met kuzzins for dinner at shokudo followed by the movie Mamma Mia. its a light hearted musical which was written based on ABBA songs. i love every songs thats being played in the movie. definitely encourage people to watch the movie.

sunday
met up with koh jeremy tianwee and his group of smu friends at red dynasty for a game of PAINTBALL!! paintball is super fun! we were divided into two groups of six each and our mission was to shoot down the opponent's cone before we retrieved our flag and brick back to our base. there were 4 matches. koh and my task was to just camp behind some oil barrels and aim at our opponents whenever that attempts to grab their flag. the guys did most of the running and shouting of commands. in the end they were the ones who suffered the most shots: their head, mouth, legs, arms and even their... i think it must have really hurt. but it was only until the final game that we girls finally got to have a feel of what paintball really was. as we still had pellets left, we decided to have a 3-on-3 (2 girls and 1 guy on each team). that was when we girls had to grab the flags and bricks on our own and it was also the time when we were shot at the most. tiring but very very very fun. everybody left the place with bruises and oily hair. (the pellets were made of of vegetable oil)

afterwich we headed to AMK hub for lunch/bubbletea/dessert. we then went to the arcade for awhile before heading home. after that i rushed home to change before my bros and i made our way down to meet decheng for his farewell dinner. time really flies. hes going back to manchester alr and will only be back next year ): bon voyage decheng!!

monday
had driving lesson in the morning. omg i finally learned how to park the car. super happy! after that, i made my way to cineleisure to meet meichee to watch Wall E. i know i'm kinda slow but still.. better late than never right. i had never missed a single disney pixar movie. anyway i love the storyline so much. very touching. a heres what a friend of mine was saying just now:

'i feel that simplicity captures the essences of love. like how we always think love is so complicated, but its actually quite simple like that in the show. don't you agree?'

i totally agree with him (:

and so its finally the recess week. really hope i can start revising my work and catch up on all the projects that need to be done. lots of things to look forward too swimming, kbox, sentosa... busy week ahead.

this two weeks have been really hectic but i really enjoyed myself.

last wednesday was off to hong kong!! if there wasn't the HR quiz, i would have followed my mum and flew off to HK last last friday. but nevertheless, the five days at HK was incredible. HK does indeed live up to its name of shopping and food paradise. it was five whole days of shopping, eating and MORE shopping.

it was my first time travelling alone on a plane and i must say it really is kinda fun. i explored the entire departure hall and checked out the prices of all the liquors that were selling at DFS. and its damn cheap la.its like 1/4 the price you see outside. told myself to definitely buy a few bottles back when i return home. and so when i arrived at HK, my mum was already waiting for me at the airport. took a citybus to my aunt's house to put our luggage and headed off to a nice cosy restaurant which served the best lamb shanks i've ever tasted. not bad for my first meal in HK.

the next day, aunt had to work so me and my mum took the train and headed down to CityGate. Over there, you can find any brand outlets like esprit, fcuk, nike, ralph lauren... where the clothes were selling at a cheaper price compared to the other shopping centres. and because it was the summer sale, discounts were at least 70%. now thats what i call shopping! afterwich we met my aunt at her workplace where we continued shopping at some warehouse where the clothes were even cheaper and nicer. dinner was at some korean restaurant at tsim sha tsui.

and on friday, my dad came to HK from guangzhou to stay with us for a few days. i miss my dad so much la. never see him for two months alr. so i was really happy to see him even if its for only three days. went to mongkok to shop. and i wanna recommend this shopping centre called 'Lian He Guang Chang'. its definitely a place to go if you're thinking of buying alott of clothes at really cheap prices. at night it was mid autumn dinner with my cousins at a chinese restaurant.

and for saturday and sunday, we continued shopping at mongkok, causeway bay and H&M. and i got to indulge in all the yummy food there, which includes mango ice dessert, egg tarts, pork chop rice, gong zai noodles, porridge (10 times better than singapore), dian xin, bird nest mooncake, haagen dazz mooncake... ((((: we've also caught 4bia at the cinema there. nice movie.

monday was our last day already. luckily we managed to squeeze everything we've bought into our lugguage and manage to convince the people at the counter to not charge us for the extra weight. i really enjoyed myself at HK and i so wanna go back again sometime again next year. anybody wanna go? i know how to get to all those shopping centres alr (:

what i got from the trip;
1 shoe
2 skirt
2 belts
2 pants
3 bags
3 cardigans
3 scarfs
4 dresses
10 tops

this sums up my entire HK trip (: too lazy to upload the photos so its just plain text.

and i shall continue updating the rest of the week some other time, which includes dinner and movie with cousins and the ultimate paintball match!!

HAPPY 21st BDAE TIANWEE & KOKHONG
the finally awaited party. the combined celebration of my two good friends since jc. as the theme of the party was soccer, jiemeis and i decided to bake something special for them - cheesecake socer balls! so in the afternoon, we went over to koh's house to bake the soccer balls for them. and i must must comment, we love betty crocker so much la! she make baking so much easier. lol. (we know its kinda cheat but we were actually running short of time too)

and because we still had time left, as usual we did abitt of camwhoring

presents for the guys

after that we made our way to the party. and because the party was at such a ulu location, despite travelling there by car, we actually took 1hr45 mins just to find the place. we were super late, but dun think we missed anything much. the two of them were wearing the same shirt!! super cute. also the games were damn hilarious and there was this really super funny emcee who was hosting the party. the night ended off with cai quan and booze which i didn't really get to drink much anyway.

all in all happy bdae once again dudes!! and thanx jiemeis for everything that night (:

3 more days to hk!

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

and sad to say its already the 5th week of school. we are like close to finishing half the sem and this only means more quizzes and projects coming up for the next few weeks. in addition, i will also be going to hk next week, when its not even the one week break yet. yes i know its abitt absurd cuz this would mean i will miss one whole week of school, but who can resist a trip to hongkong right (:
last weekend was crazieee. on saturday we celebrated jincheng's 21st bdae. it was a blast! helped abitt with the preparation and games.whats a party with lots of food, booze and music. check out the turntables decheng got from england. damn cool

the bdae boy greeting his guests right at the gate.

family!! (the photo is kinda blur)

i even went over to joyce's house in the middle of the party to wish her happy bdae and also to pass her her bdae present. she was also celebrating her 21st bdae but i stayed there for only 5 mins. sorry girl, but i hope you had a wonderful party too (:

and sunday was a trip to jurong bird park with TGL. boon insisted that we go cuz he had discount vouchers and it was the last day alr. its been an extremely long time since i visited the bird park and it is definitely much more beautiful than before. but the bird show was exactly the same as last time and i found it rather interesting to have the birds flying in close proximity above our heads, especially the eagles. the bird park is fun overall but i don't think i will ever go back there for another longgg period. lol. going to the zoo is much better.

birds birds and more birds

my favourite part! feeding the parrots

nothing beats spending the day with them (:
